As these are moving targets, the taxonomy will not be able to prescribe fixed thresholds for each category. Diligence should be performed based on country specific definitions of road freight vehicles (e.g. Singapore’s LTA classifies vehicle sub-groups for freight transport at this link (see 4 – Goods and Other Vehicles) Goods-cum-Passenger Vehicle (GPV), Light Goods Vehicle (LGV), Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV), Very Heavy Goods Vehicle (VHGV)) and the current emissions profile of vehicles in that definition.
Where there is a lack of data for the spread of emissions for the specific vehicle type for freight transport, an estimate could be used.
LTA has published their sustainability report which consist of the 2022 emission profile and broke down the total emissions from 3 different categories – i.e. (i) public transport and rail system, (ii) light vehicles (including cars, light goods vehicles (LGVs), motorcycles, private hire cars (PHCs), and taxis), and (iii) heavy vehicles (including heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), private buses, and very heavy goods vehicles (VHGVs)).
