Please note reference to low-carbon gases on page 31 of the SAT (December 2023 version): “Renewable and low-carbon gases include non-fossil gaseous fuels, such as biomethane and biogas, as well as hydrogen and its derivatives.”
While the SAT does not provide an exhaustive list of low-carbon gases, it mentions low-carbon hydrogen and its derivatives as examples. The SAT also highlights the importance of lifecycle emissions reduction and mentions derivatives of low-carbon hydrogen, such as methanol. Methanol derived from low-carbon hydrogen is likely aligned with the SAT.
